light or dark?

i'm talking about hair ladies! i made the mistake {ok, several mistakes} of trying to color my own hair. i know, i know..... anyway, i colored it 2 shades darker than i really wanted, so, instead of coloring it again, i.............. washed my hair with baking soda. yes, another use for baking soda.

here's what i did....

1/4 cup of baking soda in a bowl and mixed it with baby shampoo to make a smooth frosting like consistency.

in the shower, i put the mixture in my hair and let it sit for 3 minutes while i shaved my legs... rinsed my hair and double conditioned my hair with my normal conditioner.

and it worked!! it totally worked!!! it turned just the shade i wanted. i read that you should not do this on a daily basis- it will dry your hair out, but, again, another economical, safe way to lighten your hair.

now, for dark hair.... { i have not tried this, but have heard that it works great}

In a Hurry Rosemary Rinse

One of the simplest ways to use Rosemary is to mix 10 drops of essential oil with 1 ounce of water. After shampooing pour the solution over your hair and work with your fingers to blend evenly. Do not rinse. This solution helps to condition your hair and makes it easier to comb through tangles. It will also help to control dandruff and itching.

if you have any other hair/color suggestions, please share!

Blessings,

k

Lover How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes behind your veil are doves.
Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from Mount Gilead.

Ooh, I'll have to try the baking soda for my hair. People keep asking if I dyed my hair dark brown. I'm not thrilled with my response, "No, this is my natural color..."

Thanks for the tips!

Okay Kar - what ever you do...DO NOT STRAIGHTEN your hair with a cheap straightener kit from Sally's Beauty Shop...does this bring back horrible memories from highschool? Or how about dying your hair with a product that was to "remove gray" - otherwise making you hair darker!!!!!! Even though you were trying to go blonde! Oh the memories. Think of all the time and $ that went into fixing our horrible decisions back in the day!
